Gift basket

Picture
Early on we knew we wanted to honor all of our guests with a gift basket placed in each hotel room.  We began scouting ideas for what to include on a budget but we also wanted things that really said "Texas Style" as that was our theme.

I have already listed the items from our gift basket but want to share a few more details about each addition.

The bandana pictured below we purchased from Constructive Playthings/US Toys in an assortment of colors.  If you purchase twelve of one color, they have a case lot price.

Round-up t-shirt

I researched t-shirt companies who would be inexpensive yet offer a wide range of sizes.  We didn't want one person to be left out of the opportunity to wear a t-shirt.  I found Creative Advertising USA who offered great quality t-shirts in sizes thru 6X.

My brother-in-law designed the shirt and pictured is the back of the shirt.  By ordering a minimum quantity of 48 shirts, we were able to offer these for $8 apiece.  He created a t-shirt order form and we sent that in one of our guest mailings in March.  He turned the order in the first few weeks of May and the shirts were received around 6 weeks before the reunion.  Plenty of time to sort and make sure we had everyone's order separated.

Water bottle

My sister and brother-in-law researched water bottle labels that would not bleed when wet or chilled.  They found one at Creative Label Concepts and received a template to create two different labels for our bottles.

The labels cost approximately $20 and we spent $9 on 72 water bottles.  Make sure to purchase a brand of water where the label peals off easily to replace with your reunion one.

Rhubarb jelly

Picture
One of the fond memories all of us have of our mother was her homemade rhubarb jelly.  Maybe not a Texas thing but my sister knew when she made the jelly that it would bring back memories of mom.

Trail mix burlap bag

Picture
We purchased large cans of trail mix and placed a scoop of the mix in a snack size Ziploc bag.

My sister then made a small burlap drawstring bag to hold the ziploc bag.  The burlap was purchased at Hobby Lobby and each bag was rubber stamped with a cowboy boot.

Bandana mints

Couldn't resist these bandana mints from Hobby Lobby

Haystack candy

Hobby Lobby had cello bandana treat bags for a very reasonable price.  I made haystack candy and placed one serving in the bandana bag.  We placed one bag per guest in the basket we made for each hotel room.

Poem bookmark

Picture
I wrote a poem to welcome everyone to the reunion.  My daughter is very handy with the Cricut and she designed the bookmark for me.

When my sister purchased a ton of popcorn from my nephew who is an Eagle Scout, little did she know this would end up in reunion gift baskets.

Name badges

Picture
We used plastic name badge holders.  It had been so long since we had all been together, we needed the names and did not want peel off name badges that could be lost.  In every way we wanted to honor our guests and calling them by name was one way to do that.

My brother-in-law chose a lariot to encircle the first name of each guest.  These were prepared in advance on the computer so they were easy to read and carried out our theme.
